Beirut, Lebanon (July 21, 2006) Ð Marines from the Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) Service Support Group (MSSG) 24, currently embarked aboard the amphibious transport dock USS Nashville (LPD 13), assist civilians aboard a landing craft utility (LCU). USS Nashville is on a regularly scheduled deployment, and is assisting the U.S. Central Command and 24th (MEU) with the departure of U.S. citizens from Lebanon, at the request of the U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon and at the direction of the Secretary of Defense.
