They were being towed in after breaking their propeller during a second search for survivors in New Orleans. Members of the 2nd Battalion (BN), 162nd Infantry (IN) and the 41st Brigade (BDE), Oregon Army National Guard (ORARNG), deployed to New Orleans as part of Joint Task Force (JTF) Hurricane Katrina, to participate in the search and recovery (SAR) efforts in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
